What size is a pickleball court

The official dimensions of a pickleball court are 44 feet long by 20 feet wide for doubles play, and 44 feet long by 17 feet wide for singles play. The court is divided into two halves by a centerline and is further divided into two service courts on each side of the net.

The net is situated in the center of the court and is 36 inches high at the sidelines and 34 inches high at the center. The net extends 22 feet from post to post and is suspended over the centerline by a cord or metal cable.

The service courts are located on each side of the court, with a service line situated 7 feet from the net. The non-volley zone, also known as the kitchen, is a 14-foot area on each side of the net where players are not allowed to hit the ball in the air (unless the ball bounces first).

The boundaries of the court are marked by lines on the playing surface, with the sidelines running parallel to the net and the baseline running perpendicular to the net. The outer edges of the court are also marked with out-of-bounds lines to help players determine whether a ball is in or out of play.

It's important to note that while these are the official dimensions of a pickleball court, there may be slight variations in the size and shape of courts used in informal or non-sanctioned play.
